Putting THIS Into Your Blender Can Hurt You
If you have a blender, keep reading - no matter what brand you have there's one thing you should never ever put inside that plastic container. Unfortunately most influencers do this every single morning and the brands will even say it's safe but for the love of Pete! (Whoever Pete is) stop putting hot stuff into your blender! There are two other things you should avoid putting into your plastic blenders, too. Keep reading!
When you heat plastic the plastic leaches into your food. Heat increases the chances of the plastics leaching! I used to do this all the time when I would blend my coffee to get it all frothy. Yes I was one of those influencers doing this every single morning! WHOAH — that’s the worst thing you can ever do! These blender companies literally promote the fact that you “can” make soups or heat stuff in their plastic containers but that doesn’t mean you SHOULD.
I've had a Vitamix blender for years and they've always marketed their product by showing you how to make hot, fresh soup in it by placing fresh veggies and broth or water inside the container and blending it on high for a few minutes until the soup is pipping hot! Once I learned about how bad this was for your health I tossed my Vitamix container and got a new one (they hadn't come out with the stainless steel one yet) but never used it for anything hot ever again. Now they have a stainless steel container and I love it because not only is it easy to clean, I love knowing that there's no plastic touching whatever I'm blending!
AVOID putting anything hot, acidic or super high fat content into your blender because it can increase the chances of leaching plastic into your food.
