Cookie frosting without all the sugar? Yes - of course! You can obviously use this recipe year round for any cookies on any holiday, but right now we’re celebrating Christmas in July so, of course, I’m baking up a storm!
Last week I made the cutest Mickey Mouse Gingerbread cookies to celebrate Disneyland’s 65th birthday. I used a recipe from Evolved Chocolate for the cookies and decorated them with my frosting recipe. And I’m excited to share it with you!
No matter the holiday, occasion or celebration, this frosting recipe is a winner! Whether you’re making cookies for a birthday, Christmas in July (or December) or just because…. whether you’re making the frosting red, orange, yellow, green, blue or purple… this is a fool-proof frosting recipe that you can make anytime just because.
I really love this Confectioners Stevia Blend from Pyure Organic. It tastes great! They do have a long list of products, but this one is still my favorite. It’s sugar free, calorie free, gluten free and contains zero net carbs. It’s a blend of organic stevia and erythritol, and it really tastes great! Plus - it’s so versatile! It cooks and bakes just like confectionary sugar. It’s a great ingredient for frosting and dissolves easily.
Here’s the thing. Traditional powdered sugar contains lots of sugar and empty calories, and it’s also something I avoid because I don’t consume any cane sugar. However, Confectioners Stevia Blend from Pyure Organic has zero calories, zero carbs, and zero sugar — so it’s a great option for those eating keto, low carb and avoiding extra sugar or cane sugar in general. It’s really perfect for this frosting recipe!
For food coloring I like to use both Color Kitchen Foods and Go Supernatural for sprinkles and natural food coloring. Both have wonderful options to keep you festive year round and taste delicious with this frosting and cookies. Coupon Alert: Right now, on Amazon Pyure Organic has a ‘10% Off’ Coupon for the Confectioners Stevia Blend through July 25th.
