Expo East 2018 | 27 Products You Need to Know About

Expo East is a huge natural food expo that happens every September on the East Coast. This year, however, I was unable to attend due to a last minute decision to stay home because of the Hurricane. It was a hard decision to make, but we felt that it was best to stay home and be safe since we were unsure of what the Hurricane would do.

After every Expo East and Expo West, I have written a Top 10 list of my favorite finds from each food show. Even though I was unable to make it, I was still able to compile a list of brand new products from some of the companies that I already know and love, as well as some new companies that I would have met at the show (since I had their booths bookmarked on my list).

So, in alphabetical order, here are some amazing new products that you should know about.

Aunt Fannie’s is a health and wellness company that makes natural and effective cleaning products. Their products are made with ingredients that help maintain a healthy balance between your body and the indoor microbiome. “Each of us is our own microbiome, with gazillions of invisible allies that keep us healthy, safe and strong. Your home has a microbiome, too. Even ‘natural’ products can disrupt it. Keep your home sparkling and safe with Aunt Fannie’s..” (read more about microbiome, here). I have used their cleaning sprays, wipes and my favorite — their fly punch to catch those nasty fruit flies we get when I like to leave the windows open.

They launched a brand new product at Expo East — Mosquito Wipes. They repel nasty mosquitos, are DEET free, and are made of non-toxic, microbiomic ingredients! They are safe for sensitive skin, non-irritating and can be used on kids over 6 months old.

They come in a box of 10 individually wrapped wipes that are each one-time-use. They are biodegradable, as well. I love that they are individually wrapped, so you can take a few in your purse or pocket if you are out for the day.

Aunt Fannie’s products always amaze me! I only wish I had these just a week before Expo when I was in Mexico and got about 12 mosquito bites.

Biena Chickpea Snacks make roasted chickpeas in different flavors. I’ve only tried the Organic Sea Salt Chickpeas. They are Organic, NonGMO Project verified, gluten free (not certified) and have 3 ingredients: organic chickpeas, organic sunflower oil and sea salt.

I’d never tried this brand until they recently sent me a bag of these chickpeas, and I must say, I do like them. I know you can use them to munch on as they are good protein and fiber, but you can also toss them on a salad, or in a soup.

CauliPower’s Sweet Potatoasts were a huge hit on social media during Expo East. These vegan, gluten free, paleo, high fiber, nonGMO already cut sweet potato toasts will come in 2 flavors: Original and Sea Salt & Olive Oil.

The ingredients are on point as they literally are just Roasted Sweet Potatoes, Olive Oil, Sea Salt and Roasted Sweet Potatoes. With no artificial flavors, preservatives or colors, these sweet potato toasts are a great source of fiber, Vitamin A & C as well as Vitamin B6!

I am very excited about these toasts! I think it’s a genius move by CauliPower and I think they will be a total hit when they are available for purchase!

Cece’s Veggie Co. makes ready to cook veggie products in different shapes, sizes and from different vegetables. Their products are made in dedicated facilities that are wheat free, gluten free, peanut free, tree nut free, shellfish free and soy free. They are also Whole 30 approved, USDA Organic, certified gluten free and NonGMO verified!

They recently launched a few new products that are definitely tasty! Shells & Cheese made with a dairy free organic cheez sauce and Shells & Cheese made with organic cheddar cheese sauce. The “shells” are made from organic butternut squash and taste great! I love the texture of these shells.

Their new organic Zucchini Noodles with Marinara are also a wonderful addition to the Cece’s family! We had only had their Noodled line of products before this and we love the other products they have added to the lineup. They recently sent me their Shells & Cheese, Zucchini Noodles with Marinara and Riced Medley which includes cauliflower rice, broccoli, carrot and green onion. This is a fantastic base for any meal. Just add some seasoning, protein of choice (if desired) and heat up in a skillet for a quick and healthy meal!

I love the Natural Hand Sanitizer Sprays! They are great to keep in my purse on the go or even in the car.

The Natural Hand Sanitizer Sprays are alcohol free, kid friendly, won’t sting any cuts or boo-boos, it kills germs, and is gentle on sensitive skin. I also love that it doesn’t leave my skin feeling dry.

Curoxen’s First Aid Ointment is a homeopathic medicine that helps prevent infection in minor cuts, scrapes and burns. It’s made with no artificial antibiotics or chemicals, petroleum or preservatives and only safe ingredients for your body. Their products use nature made ingredients such as Olive Oil, Calendula, and Lavender Essential oil.

Their unique formulation is made in Italy at a premier medical homeopathic healthcare company that complies with strict Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) guidelines by the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA).

There is so much science and fantastic information on their website that also explains more about their great product. Obviously, this is a product that you don’t even hope to HAVE TO USE, though it’s a great product to keep on hand in case you do need it. Better to be prepared.

EcoVessel is a new company to me. They reached out to me prior to Expo East, and I was very excited to meet them. However, since I didn’t make it to the show, they kindly sent me some samples… ummm, I am in love!

These stainless steel reusable bottles and cups are designed to keep your cold things cold and your hot things hot. I have used mine almost every other day since I received them, and I love it!

They’ve constructed the durable Port from food grade 18/8 stainless steel using their signature TriMax triple insulation to ensure your favorite drinks stay hot or cold for hours. The silicone base makes for a soft landing when putting it down and grips well to tables. They include EcoVessel's 100 Year Warranty!

They have so many colors, sizes, shapes and even fun designs for the kids, too.

Enjoy Life Foods Breakfast Fruit & Oat Ovals are a thing, and a tasty thing for sure! One of my favorite brands, Enjoy Life Foods, just launched a brand new product at Expo East. These Breakfast Ovals are free from gluten and 14 other common allergens. They are also very transparent about their ingredients.

Breakfast Fruit & Oat Ovals come in 4 flavors: Maple Fig, Apple Cinnamon, Berry Medley and Chocolate Chip Banana. They are also packed with 20+ grams of whole grains, made with 4 times the purity protocol gluten free oats and are quite filling and tasty, too.

The brand new Breakfast Fruit & Oat Ovals aren’t available just yet, but stay tuned and follow them on social media to see when they officially launch. I will also let you know via my social media as well.

Emmy’s Organics - is a brand that I have loved for a few years now. Their delicious USDA Organic, vegan and gluten free coconut cookies are something that everyone should experience. Their cookies are made with delicious, nutritious and high quality ingredients!

They have a line up of many tasty flavors including: Lemon Ginger, Vanilla Bean, Chocolate Chip, Dark Cacao and my favorite, Peanut Butter. Right now they even have a seasonal Pumpkin Spice Flavor and Double Chocolate Mint on the website — so as Sir-Mix-A-Lot eloquently put it: “Jump on it! Jump on it! Jump on it!”

Emmy’s just launched 2 brand new flavors that I just tasted about 10 minutes before writing this: Golden Milk and Matcha — once again, they nailed it! I must be honest with you and say that Matcha is not my go-to flavor, though I do enjoy it sometimes… and this is one of those times! The Golden Milk flavor might rival my love for their Peanut Butter flavor, and the aftertaste is incredible!

HealthAde Kombucha is one of our most favorite brands and kombucha makers. Their new Bubbly Rose might just be my favorite flavor (tied with their Holiday flavor). It has bursts of flavor of Hawthorn Berry, Mangosteen and Pink Rose.

For this flavor, they teamed up with Tone It Up (a popular fitness and lifestyle group) to bring this flavor. It’s fruity, it’s tart, it’s bubbly and, for me, it’s a total hit! Plus, that label and packaging is gorgeous.

HealthAde’s kombuchas are USDA Organic, gluten free, NonGMO project verified, Kosher, Vegan, and Raw! Their bottles are glass, made in small 2.5 gallon batches, are cold pressed and made with real food ingredients.

We love your new flavor, HealthAde! ROSE ALL DAY!

Glean - I discovered this brand a few months back, and their Sweet Potato Flour sat in my

cupboard for a long time, until one day I whipped up this amazing stack of Sweet Potato Pancakes. Why did I wait so long? We will never know!

When I found out they were going to be at Expo East, I knew I had to go visit their booth. I had’t tried their product at that point, but I loved what they were doing!

Glean makes Sweet Potato Flour, Pumpkin Flour, Cauliflower Flour and Beet Flour. Yum — think of all of the things that you could make with that lineup!

I reached out to Glean during Expo because they won a NEXTY Award for Best New Mission-Based Product! For each pound of product purchased, they donate a pound of product to people across the globe who need help fighting poverty, hunger and malnutrition! Learn more about their mission here.

This company is fantastic, and I’m so excited about their Pumpkin Goodness (pumpkin flour). I just made delicious Pumpkin Spice Cookies with 3 Ingredient Frosting which is on the blog, now. Recipe here. Congrats, Glean! Well deserved!

My Gut Garden is a company that reached out to me during Expo to stop by their booth. Bummer that I couldn’t meet this lovey company in person, but they did send me two of their products to try. Gut Garden is dedicated to helping people achieve optimal digestive and immune health with their premium research-based intestinal health supplements. Their products only use ultra-pure sourced ingredients that provide a direct heath benefit to the consumer, no preservatives, colorings or flavorings are used — ever!

Gut Garden sent me their Digestive Enzymes and Activated Charcoal. I haven’t tried their products just yet, BUT I do take Digestive Enzymes every day and keep Activated Charcoal in the house and travel with it at all times.

Activated Charcoal is great to take when you want to remove some unwanted material and gas in your digestive tract. Taking Activated Charcoal can help you and your body get rid of those yuckies that are causing tummy troubles of all sorts. For me, I take Activated Charcoal with me when I travel in case of food poising or if I am glued to the royal porcelain throne. That is what has helped me in the past. Digestive Enzymes are designed to break down fats, carbs, and proteins to help support proper digestion and improve your body’s nutrient absorption. I take them daily, and once my current bottle of Digestive Enzymes is empty, I look forward to trying Gut Garden’s Digestive Enzymes and taking them every day.

NutPods make fantastic, healthy, Whole 30 Approved creamers that aren’t just for coffee! They have a few different flavors to choose from: Original, French Vanilla, Hazelnut, Vanilla Lemon and right now Pumpkin Spice (check out this tasty Pumpkin Pie Smoothie recipe). Dark Chocolate Orange, as well as a Peppermint Mocha, will launch November 1st!

They just launched their brand new Limited Seasonal Edition Dark Chocolate Orange on Monday, and we are truly obsessed! I really don’t like orange and chocolate together and I never have until now. This flavor might just be my favorite (though I haven’t tried the new Peppermint Mocha). I even made a tasty, easy-to-make Spiced Orange Hot Chocolate recipe that’s on the blog right now. It reminds us of a magical place.

These creamers are gluten free, have no added sugar, no carrageenan, and are dairy free and soy free. They are also vegan, gluten free, paleo and plant based. I highly recommend this amazing line of products!

NutCrumbs is a great company that I found on Instagram over the summer, and, ever since then, I am addicted to their crumbs! NutCrumbs are a bread crumb alternative. Their crumbs are made from nuts (almonds, pistachios, cashews and spices). I’ve used their crumbs in meatballs, to bread chicken and my favorite way is actually as a “parmesan cheese alternative” on top of veggie noodles, pasta, salad and even savory toast.

Once again, I was bummed that I didn’t get a chance to meet the NutCrumbs family in person at Expo but I did reach out to them to see if they were launching anything new at the show. They recently launched a “Just Almonds” line! Rather than adding cashews and pistachios, this line is just what it’s called: just almonds and spices.

These products are vegan, Whole 30, paleo, gluten free, natural, Keto and sugar free. I highly recommend these amazing crumbs — you will love them in and on everything. Right now, during the holidays, they have 2 new flavors that are limited quantity — Pumpkin Spice and Coffee Cacao. I have used the Pumpkin Spice in 2 recipes: Pumpkin Pie Smoothie (as topping) and Pumpkin Spice Chia Seed Pudding. Use code KRYSTENSKITCHEN for a discount at checkout.

OM Organic Mushroom Nutrition makes high quality certified organic functional mushroom powders. They have functional blends as well as single mushroom powders that you can incorporate into your diet through smoothies, teas, baking etc.

I have never tried their products but they did just send me their Reishi (which I love Reishi) and their Beauty Hair Skin & Nails blend. I am very excited to add this to my routine.

“Each species has it own unique benefits naturally aiding wellness, sports performance and recovery. Using the full spectrum life-cycle of the mushroom our products contain all the bioactive compounds in a balance created by nature.” Their products are organic, nonGMO, vegan and fermented.

Perfect Bar Perfect Kids makes nutritious refrigerated bars that have all kinds of superfoods, healthy fats, protein, honey, and is also low glycemic and made without anything artificial or preservatives.

They just launched their Perfect Kids line which will be the first organic refrigerated kids bar. It will be a USDA organic, nonGMO project verified, low glycemic bar that will be in Target stores nationwide. It’s cookie-dough-like texture and taste I am sure will be a big hit for kids. This line will launch in 2 flavors: Peanut Butter Cookie and Chocolate Chip. Each bar also is made with freshly ground organic peanut butter, honey, gluten free oats, contains 7g of whole food protein and 8 super food veggies!

As someone who eats low carb and low sugar, I always prefer kids size bars and snacks, so this big kid right here will definitely enjoy this line of bars.

Phyter Plant Based Food Bars are brand new to us. These bars are entirely plant based, healthy and made with USDA Organic, Vegan, Gluten Free, soy free, kosher, nonGMO ingredients.

These bars come in 5 flavors: Sweet Potato + Coconut, Beat + Cocoa, Sweet Potato + Coconut, Butternut Squash + Peanut Butter, Berries + Peanut Butter, Kale + Apple.

We just tried each of these bars a few minutes ago and while we enjoyed all of the flavors, our favorites were the Berries + Peanut Butter and the Kale + Apple. Great company!

PlantFusion makes plant based, vegan, dairy free, gluten free, nonGMO protein powders. They sent me their Complete Protein in Vanilla Bean flavor. It’s free of dairy, wheat, gluten, eggs, peanuts, soy, tree nuts, fish, shellfish, preservatives, artificial colors or flavors.

Their protein powders have no sugar but in fact uses stevia, it’s low in carbs, high in protein and has no sugar. Flavor, texture enhancement, sourcing nutrient dense ingredients and quality control is very important to them. They started this company to make better quality and great tasting products available, no matter your diet — this protein powder can be enjoyed by vegans, meat eaters and everyone in between.

We just made a smoothie using the Complete Protein Creamy Vanilla Bean yesterday and it was very tasty. It wasn’t too sweet, blended beautifully and tasted great. Normally I don’t go for Vanilla (unless I am making a fruit smoothie) but this vanilla was great! Looking forward to trying their Chocolate and Red Velvet flavors as well.

Primal Kitchen Foods is one of my most favorite companies. Their entire line of Paleo friendly dressing, mayos, oils, marinades, condiments, protein powder, collagens, and bars are phenomenal and their brand new Ketchup is my absolute favorite product of them all!

Primal Kitchen’s Organic Unsweetened Ketchup has no sugar at all, no white sugar, dates, honey or maple. It’s made with 100% clean ingredients, is nonGMO project verified, whole 30 approved, vegan, keto, gluten free, paleo, USDA Organic and has no high fructose corn syrup.

I have always enjoyed ketchup but it wasn’t ever anything that I necessarily wanted to smother my food with…. until now. Now I want to put this on many, many things and use it quote often. This year at Expo East, Primal Kitchen’s Organic Unsweetened Ketchup won 2 NEXTY AWARDS! It won for Best New Condiment and Consumer Choice Food or Beverage! This product is not one to be missed. You can use code KRYSTENSKITCHEN for a discount on your order on any Primal Kitchen Foods products.

Primal Kitchen Food’s Peanut Butter Protein Bars just launched, and they are smoooooooooth! They remind me of cookie dough, and the flavors are bomb diggity: Peanut Butter, Almond Spice & Coconut Lime.

They are made with cage-free eggs, coconut oil, nuts and flax seed. They are loaded with healthy fats, are grain free and gluten free. They are sweetened with a touch of honey and monk fruit. They are also Paleo, as well as Keto friendly, with only 2g of sugar and 9g carbs.

I am big fan of their entire line of products. They constantly wow my tastebuds!

RX BAR has been a favorite brand for our family. Their bars consistently blow us out of the water they are so, so good! I love that they have recently added more flavors to their RXBAR Kids line and this big kid is very happy!

Their kids line has smaller versions of their regular size bars but they have tweaked the flavors. Flavors include: Peanut Butter Chocolate, Double Chocolate, PB&J, Chocolate Chip, Apple Cinnamon Raisin and Berry Blast.

Each bar contains egg whites, fruits, nuts, 7g of protein and 3g of fiber. They are the perfect size for any kiddo (or this big kid) and are made with pure, simple ingredients! We actually buy the kids size bars more than the regular size bars. You can purchase these online, at Target stores and at local grocery stores.

Square Organics is one of my most favorite companies. They consistently make great quality, organic products that tastes incredible. They have a wonderful line up of chocolate covered protein bars, popcorn and their brand new reformulated crisp bars.

These bars just launched in the last few months and replaced their cashew crisps bars with their brand new Peanut Butter Protein Crispy Bars. They are similar in texture to a rice krispee marshmallow treat and have no refined cane sugar, sugar alcohols, or added natural flavors. The first ingredient in these bars is organic peanut butter and they also have 10g of sprouted protein.

I highly recommend their entire line of products, especially the brand new Peanut Butter Protein Crispy Bars! You can use code KRYSTENSKITCHEN to save 20% off your order.

Sweet Apricity is a company that I found on instagram and loved that they made AIP, Paleo caramels and marshmallows made with real ingredients! They reached out after Expo since I couldn’t make it due to the hurricane and said that they would love to send me samples. I was very stoked and I am here to scream from the mountain tops that this company is absolutely amazing.

I even made a yummy Pumpkin Pie Smoothie and used their Pumpkin Spice marshmallows for garnish — HECK YEAH! These are the best pumpkin spice marshmallows I have ever had and I don’t even like pumpkin spice LOL!

I was most anxious to try their caramels. I grew up loving my great grandma’s caramels that she always made. There was nothing like Grammie’s caramels, and there may never be BUT, Sweet Apricity’s caramels are the next best thing, they are also the much healthier thing and the thing made with ingredients that I can eat, so they are definitley a winner in my book — as are all of their products.

Vital Proteins is a a wonderful company that I have loved for years. I have taken their collagen every single day for the past at least 2 years and I really believe it’s helped me grow back my hair after my hair loss (you can learn more about my hair loss here).

Their brand new Tropical Hibiscus Beauty Collagen Water just launched at the show! Each serving offers 12g of collagen, Skin, Hair and Nail Support, helps with skin hydration, skin elasticity, and digestive health. This flavor launch adds to their already amazing line up of Beauty Collagen Waters (and other products as well). This might be my favorite flavor of all the Beauty Collagens, thought I did make some delicious Strawberry Lemon Drop Gummy Bears with their Strawberry Lemon Beauty Collagen! Their Beauty Collagens are Whole 30 Approved, Paleo, dairy free and gluten free.

The other product they recently launched on their site is their new Mocha Collagen Creamer. If you follow me on social media then you will know that I basically refuse to drink my morning latte if I am out of collagen creamer. I love all of their flavors but this Mocha Creamer might just be my favorite. These collagen creamers have no added sugars and are Whole 30 Approved, Paleo, dairy free and gluten free!

If you want to learn more about Collagen and the benefits, read this blog and click here.

Wild Friends Foods just launched a trio of Collagen Nut Butters at Expo East. Wild Friends Foods already makes a variety of amazing nut butters that aren’t filled with cane sugar or fillers! They continue to launch new products that impress our taste buds every single time.

They use Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides (already a big fan) mixed in with their magical nut butters to create this trio that is more fabulous than 2001/2002 Destiny’s Child! They come in 3 flavors: Collagen Chocolate Peanut Butter, Collagen Vanilla Peanut Butter and Collagen Vanilla Almond Butter.

I don’t know which one I like the most at this point as they are all incredible! I love that they added Collagen to give these nut butters even more protein and added nutrition. Collagen has many health benefits that you can learn more about here.

PlusCBD was the company that first introduced CBD to me. I actually found their booth at Expo West 2017 and an hour later I sprained my knee and the jar of topical CBD cream they gave me definitely came in handy the next few days of expo. Their products have been a hit for us. We love their peppermint liquid CBD and use it in hot cacao, and love the topical CBD as well.

CBD is a phytocannabinoid found in hemp. CBD isn’t intended to treat to cure anything specific but it is being used more and more by so many people. You can learn more about the benefits here.

They just launched a new product at Expo East this year - CBD Hemp Gummies. These gummies offer a quicker tastier way of taking CBD. They come in 2 flavors: Cherry Mango and Citrus Punch. They are gluten free, nonGMO, and made from naturally derived extracts from agricultural hemp. There are 5mg of CBD in each gummy, no artificial flavorings or coloring, no high fructose corn syrup, no artificial sweeteners, gluten, dairy, soy, gelatin or preservatives.

I highly recommend this company. Their products are great and are very high quality.
