Blackberry Dark Hot Chocolate
’Tis the season for hot cocoa fa la la la la la la la la… and I have the perfect recipe for you! This Dark Hot Chocolate + Blackberries will surely keep you warm & cozy this winter. I used Vital Proteins Dark Chocolate & Blackberry Collagen Peptides for this delicious recipe creation. I even made some homemade marshmallows and topped it with a few blackberries. This recipe is gluten free, dairy free, paleo and it has 18g of protein!
__________ INGREDIENTS 1 cup dairy free milk* 1/2 tsp vanilla 1 TB maple syrup 1 1/2 TB cacao 2 scoops Vital Proteins Dark Chocolate & Blackberry Collagen Peptides 1/2 cup water
I tried both Malk Organics cashew milk and Good Karma Foods Flax Milk - both worked beautifully. I used The Maple Guild’s maple syrup and Natierra Superfoods cacao powder. I made paleo marshmallows (still working on that recipe), but you can use any kind of marshmallow that your heart desires. I did use Vital Proteins' Beef Gelatin to make the marshmallows, YAY!
In a small saucepan, pour dairy free milk of choice, vanilla, and maple syrup and heat. Pour into festive mug and set aside.
In the same sauce pan, boil 1/2 cup water. Once boiling, turn off heat and mix in Vital Protiens Dark Chocolate & Blackberry Collagen Peptides and cacao. Once fully combined, pour chocolate and water mixture into mug with dairy free milk and stir.
Top with homemade or store-bought marshmallows and a few blackberries.
