Product: Enjoy Life Foods Pizza Crust Mix

Let me start off by saying that I really love Enjoy Life Foods. I have posted quite a few recipes using their vegan chocolate chips (black bean brownies, Namaste Brownies, Vegan Mint Choc Chip Ice Cream, Oatmeal Energy Bites etc). This pizza crust mix is brand new and only sold online at the moment until it becomes available in stores this fall. You can purchase it on their website at www.EnjoyLifeFoods.com

One great thing about pizza is that you can totally make it and design it however you please. You can use any kind of vegetable, any kind of sauce (consider trying Basiltops Vegan Pesto), any kind of dairy-free cheese or regular cheese, any kind of seasoning and really make it your own. It's also a great meal where you can really involve the whole family, too. Let each family member "decorate" and design their own portion of the pizza crust!

Even if you don't have food allergies, you will really love this pizza crust mix. It's free of the following: gluten, wheat, dairy, casein, potato, peanut, treenut, egg, sesame, soy, fish, shellfish, sulfites.

I felt that this pizza crust mix was easy to make and tasted really good! I made it for my husband and my mom... and we all loved it. I ended up making a ground beef pizza with green onions, garlic and tomato sauce. It's crunchier than other pizza crusts, whereas the Namaste Foods Pizza Crust - which we LOVE - is a good combo of crunch on the outside and slightly softer in the middle. I honestly couldn't tell you which I liked better, I think it depends on what kind of mood you are in.

There were no leftovers by the way. We enjoyed our pizzed with a salad topped with Cabo Wabo Salad Dressing!

Directions (taken directly from the box) with photos

Pre-heat oven to 400°F.

Combine pizza dough mix, 1 tablespoon oil, and gradually add approximately 1 1/4 cups cold water in a bowl until well blended and dough forms.

Once dough forms, use hands to knead into a smooth ball, about 1-2 minutes. Use more or less water to create a desired dough consistency, if necessary. Split into two balls, one for each crust.

For a thinner crust, roll out ½ of the dough base to approximately ⅛” or less with a rolling pin on a floured (such as Enjoy Life All-Purpose Flour Mix) counter and then place on oiled baking sheet. Brush with olive oil, sprinkle with salt and using a fork, make indentation holes throughout before baking 8-10 minutes.

For a thicker, chewier crust, roll-out to approximately ¼”. Alternatively, press the dough directly into the pizza pan, brush with a little olive oil and sprinkle with salt.

Bake the crust without any toppings for 10-12 minutes. Remove from oven and add the desired pizza toppings on crust and bake for a further 10-12 minutes or until cheese (or your favorite dairy alternative) melts. For an even crispier crust, place the crust directly on the oven rack.

I topped our pizzas with tomato sauce, seasoned with some oregano and sea salt, cooked ground beef, mozzarella cheese, garlic, green onions and a little sheep romano cheese.

I definitley recommend this awesome pizza crust mix from Enjoy Life Foods!
