Start Your Day With LOVE | Lovebird Cereal (Virtual Organic Week 2021)
Start your day with love… Lovebird that is. Cereal is the most popular breakfast around the country, and there are so many to choose from, but most are filled with ungodly amounts of sugar, food dyes, chemicals and a long list of ingredients that ya just shouldn’t eat, let a lone start your day with. Today, let’s talk about Lovebird and their organic, paleo, dairy-free cereal. If you missed out on the last post, check out Osso Good here.
Two years ago, around this time, I was in Washington D.C. with the Organic Trade Association (OTA) as one of their influencers to "hit the Hill" to lobby for the future of the Organic industry and, more specifically, the Farm Bill. Organic Week D.C. is an amazing week organized by the OTA. Organic businesses travel to D.C. to hit the Hill and meet with key members of Congress! When you support the ORGANIC industry, you are supporting organic brands and organic farmers that believe in the health and wellness of your family. Did you know that there are 700 chemicals that are prohibited in organic farming, yet 3000 chemicals are allowed in conventional farming as opposed to 67 that are allowed in organic. Organic producers, farmers and brands are committed to making healthy food safe and available to all Americans! (Here's a group photo from 2019 when we HIT THE HILL with the OTA!) Read more about that trip HERE.
In 2019, we were able to travel to Washington D.C. for an in person Organic Week, but last year things were moved to a virtual "Organic Week”, and I decided to do my own version in 2020 and host a Virtual Organic Week featuring amazing brands (Live More Organics Freak Flag Organics Four Sigmatic Pines Wheatgrass Artisana Organics Evolved Rebbl) that I love. Eating organic is important to our family and I even write about it in my book, Eat Real Food.
This year, I’m sharing some of my favorite USDA Organic brands and products with you each day on social media and here on www.KrystensKitchen.com, as well as sharing some Q + As with each brand. Follow along on Instagram, too! Please show these brands some love.
It’s often said that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. While that’s debatable, high quality, organic ingredients should not be. Organic should be the standard, the norm and never the exception. I love this brand, this cereal, ingredients and that it’s also paleo, gluten-free, grain-free and dairy-free, too. It checks a lot of boxes. We just love it! Sweetened by nature, not by science. I love Parker’s Q+A below, and I hope you’ll check them out!

Why did you start your company/ Why did the company start After a career in big food, managing my health journey, and becoming a father - it was time to live a mission-based life to clean up junk food and fight childhood cancer. Lovebird (named after my daughter) is born out of love and protection. Our country is in a health crisis, it's my mission to turn those tides with the cleanest convenience foods possible.
Why is creating organic products important to you? Organic is both cleaner food and a vote for sustainable farming practices to help clean up our environment. To me, it's important because the food industry farming practices need to change and Organic represents that positive change.
What do you wish consumers understood about organic ingredients/sourcing organic ingredients? It's expensive and time consuming to find the right supplier but it's worth every dollar and hour.
Do you have any advice for other brands or consumers about why they should choose organic products and support the organic industry? I want to live in a world where Organic is the standard for our own health and the health of our environment. Your purchase is a vote to change the food industry, the more organic you buy means more organic is made. Over time, we can change the way food is farmed for our kids and future generations.
Is there anything else you’d like to share about your brand/products/upcoming product launches? After selling out twice, we are back in stock now.
Where can people buy your products? Please visit lovebirdfoods.com and ask your local grocery store to carry Lovebird - thank you!
