Grain-Free Garlic Cheese Bread: The Ultimate Guilt-Free Comfort Food You Need to Try Right Now!
Let's talk about gluten! Let's delve into the world of gluten. Gluten, a protein present in wheat, barley, and rye, is responsible for the elasticity and doughy texture of bread and other flour-based products. For many people, consuming gluten-rich foods like toast or brioche buns can wreak havoc on your digestive system, potentially leading to inflammation and other health issues. In the U.S., wheat flour, a primary source of gluten, undergoes genetic engineering, stripping it of essential nutrients and enzymes necessary for proper digestion. Wheat crops are often treated with pesticides like Glyphosate which is linked to adverse health effects such as cancer.
Living a grain-free lifestyle is becoming more and more popular. In our home we are mostly grain-free. A grain-free diet eliminates grains like corn, wheat, oats, and rice. Unlike typical gluten-free breads containing grains high in sugar and low in nutrition, AWG Bakery offers an incredible lineup of grain-free bread products! From rolls to loafs of bread and now bagels - everything is paleo, vegan, gluten free and grain free, too. They use only high quality organic ingredients that everyone will love - our whole family loves their bread including our toddler.
Let's make a garlic cheesy bread together!
INGREDIENTS
4 Tablespoons organic butter, room temp
3-6 cloves garlic, minced
Pinch of dried thyme
Pinch of dried parsley
Salt & pepper
4 ounces shredded sharp cheddar cheese
Wedderspoon manuka honey drizzled on top
*Use code KRYSTENSKITCHEN at checkout on AWGBAKERY.COM for all your orders! This bread is quite tasty and is mama owned!
Make sure the bread is room temperature. Cut slits in the round going one way and then rotate the loaf and have them cross over with more slits (not all the way through as the bottom needs to stay in tact). Mix melted butter, cheese and herbs tighter and stuff each opening with the mixture (salt & pepper optional). For a visual see the video below.
Bake at 375 for 15-20 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbling a little on top. Optional - use the broiler for 5 minutes at the end. Remove from the oven and drizzle with honey (optional) and if you like a kick sprinkle with red pepper flakes.
