Krysten's Crunch Bars

It's close to Halloween, which means candy is everywhere! This was one of the first recipes I experimented with and I figured this out completely by accident. When I changed my eating habits almost seven years ago, I really had to get creative in the kitchen.

I have this delicious guilt free version of a traditional crunch bar that is totally vegan, gluten free and doesn't contain refined sugars. It has sprouted ingredients and fiber and is a yummy alternative to the junk that gets passed out during Halloweentime!

This recipe only contains 2 -3 ingredients. It made about 20 small (think of a mini fun-size crunch bar) pieces.

This recipe will only take about 10-15 minutes to prepare and only 15 minutes in the refriderator. So, next time you have company, make a batch of Krysten's Crunch Bars and wow the crowd!

__________

INGREDIENTS

(optional) 1 TB peanut butter / almond butter

Directions:

Melt your chocolate chips. I don't encourage use of the microwave, but obviously you could melt your chocolate that way. If you choose the stove, make sure your burner is on medium to medium-low. Once your chocolate is melted, turn off the heat. Stir in your peanut butter or almond butter. (You can omit the nut butter if you like.)

Line some parchment paper on a plate or small baking sheet. Pour the mixture on the parchment paper. You can decide how thick or thin you want to spread your mixture out.

Place in the refrigerator for 20 minutes.

After 2O minutes, check to make sure your crunch bar mixture has hardend.

Break apart into smaller pieces using your hands and enjoy! It's hard to eat just one!
