Tolerant Red Lentil Penne Pasta|Product Review

What if I told you that you could eat lentils in the form of good old fashioned penne pasta? What if I told you that it is super tasty? Well, it is! When I first saw this Organic Red Lentil Penne Pasta in the grocery store, I got so excited and bought it right away. I didn't hesitate one second, even though it can cost anywhere from $8 - $10 depending on where you purchase it. I absolutely love red lentil soup (and have a wonderful recipe for it, which I will share some other time), so I figured I really couldn't go wrong with this. I was so excited to see that there are more and more companies developing products like this for people who are unable to have regular pasta, wheat pasta or even some gluten free pastas which are made of corn!
We have enjoyed this pasta with many different sauces, including vegan pesto, meat sauce and vegan alfredo sauce. Tonight, I made this red lentil pasta from Tolerant Foods for my husband and mother and, let's just say, there are no left-overs! Not only is this pasta yummy, it is filled with 21g of protein per serving and only has one ingredient: organic, non-GMO red lentils!

I cooked the pasta according to the instructions on the box:
Fill up your pot of filtered water and bring it to a boil. I like to add a little bit of extra virgin olive oil and a pinch of salt to the water. Once the water boils, add the Organic Red Lentil Penne Pasta. Cook it for 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally. When the pasta is cooked, drain it and then season the pasta as you please.
It’s easy to make and has the same instructions that regular pasta has. We cooked it for 8 minutes to pasta perfection!
You can purchase this pasta online or in your local Whole Foods Market.
Once drained, I made a delicious VEGAN Alfredo Sauce! You can see my recipe for that here!
