Immune Supporting Mushrooms & How To Incorporate Them (Recipe)

Mushrooms and the immune system? Boosting your immune system is so important … now, more than ever, we should be trying to get enough sleep at night, get a 10-20 minutes of sunshine (vitamin D), reduce stress and fuel our bodies with healthy foods.

Yes, that is a tasty latte made with mushroom called Chaga. And, yes, I drink it every day, and I don't even like mushrooms -- like the kind you put on a pizza in a salad or pasta dish. I promise this drink doesn't taste ANYTHING like those kinds of mushrooms. This isn't a "portobello" or "shitake" latte! I swear!

I believe in the healing benefits of these incredible adaptogenic mushrooms! These aren’t the kind of “shrooms” that make you hallucinate or do strange things. These are legit, functional mushrooms, superfoods and adaptogens, that boost your immune system, help with stress, sleep, energy, brain health and more.

Adaptogens are herbal substances that are used to improve your health and aid in helping the body to “adapt” to what it needs. They boost the immune system, support healthy weight, increase mental focus, encourage a happy and healthy mood, aid in reducing stress and more. They help you sleep better, adapt to stress (so. much. stress. right. now. in. the. world.), balance hormones and maintain healthy energy levels.

Let's talk about CHAGA:

  • supports immune system

  • 1500 mg chaga

  • Caffeine free alternative to coffee

  • Rich source of vitamin C

  • high antioxidant properties

  • rich in vitamins & minerals

  • supports gut health and digestion

  • lowers cholesterol

  • known as the “king of mushrooms”

I have been enjoying an afternoon Chaga Elixir Mix from Four Sigmatic instead of my second afternoon coffee/latte. It’s WHOLE30, ORGANIC, CAFFEINE FREE & VEGAN, too.

You can add functional mushrooms to your smoothies, coffee, baking and even make a Chaga latte!

RECIPE:

8oz hot water or almond milk

2 scoops collagen peptides (optional)

Optional - frothy nutpods creamer (in this milk frother) & dash of cinnamon

Directions: Add Chaga Elixir Mix to hot water or dairy free milk and stir or use a hand frother. Add collagen peptides and mix. Pour nutpods creamer in or froth it (using frother), sprinkle with cinnamon and enjoy.

Drink in you favorite mug and perhaps open a great book. I love this book from Four Sigmatic founder, Tero Isokauppila called HEALING MUSHROOMS. You can use code KRYSTENSKITCHEN at checkout for a discount on Four Sigmatic products.
