Homemade Breadcrumbs

Honestly, I wish I would have done this a long time ago. I have only been making my breadcrumbs this way for maybe the last year or so. It is incredibly easy, you can use it to top a delicious dish or in my easy meatball recipe.

I prefer to use Ezekiel Whole Grain Sprouted Bread from Food For Life.

__________

INGREDIENTS

1 piece of Ezekiel bread

herbs

salt & pepper to taste

Note: We keep our Ezekiel bread in the freezer. Because it is made with wonderfully fresh indgredients and doesn't contain preservatives, it will go moldy very fast on your counter, in your bread box or even your refridgerator.

Directions:

Put a piece of Ezekiel bread in your toaster until it is toasted.

Once it looks similar to this picture, break it apart into a few pieces (3-5)

so it will fit into your food processor.

Grind or chop it up until it resembles breadcrumbs. You can add a pinch of

parsley, oregano, salt and pepper if you like or leave it plain - whatever you like

and depending on what you are using the breadcrumbs for.

That's it! You can even toast them in a skillet with a little bit of extra virgin olive oil

or vegan butter!
