Caramel Latte + Caramel Sauce Drizzle | Better-Than-Starbucks | Vegan, Low Carb, Paleo

It’s a popular drink at your local Starbucks and even McDonalds! To be honest, I have NEVER in my life ordered one and don’t plan on it, either. I am blown away at the amount of sugar that each of these drinks contains and often, people ask for extra caramel sauce! You know it, you already love it (maybe). I introduce you to the Caramel Latte.


I had an idea to play around to make my own and see what I could come up with and wowza, that was a good idea.


A traditional Starbucks Caramel Brûlée Latte (tall 12 oz) is filled with all kinds of sugar you wouldn’t even believe it! There are 250 calories, 11g fat, 54 carbs, and a whopping 36g of sugar! That’s if you get a small (tall) and doesn’t even count the extra caramel you might add or if you get a bigger size!


A small Caramel Latte from McDonalds is not good either. With 250 calories, 7g fat, 28 carbs and 25g of sugar, it’s pretty comparable to Starbucks version.



You will see the breakdown of my recipe below with macros and ingredients, too. I got a lot of response on social media to hurry up and share this recipe so I think we should get to the recipe.


But first, a few nutrition facts because I’m all about that education life. The ingredients seem lengthy but most of them are superfoods & functional mushrooms. If you don’t have any of the following, feel free to improvise and create your own — the real magic however is in the Addictive Wellness Caramel Elixir Blends & the Nutiva Organic Coconut Almond Manna & the nutpods Caramel Coffee Creamer. You could use another nut milk or coffee, but I do really love both of those products, too.

Here’s my recipe and I’m stickin’ to it!

INGREDIENTS

Coffee

1 packet Mushroom Coffee + Lions Mane & Chaga

1 packet (minus 1 tsp/reserved for caramel sauce) Addictive Wellness Caramel Elixir Blend

2 scoops Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides (optional)


Froth

3 TB nutpods Caramel Coffee Creamer

1 TB Malk Organics Unsweetened Almond Milk


Caramel Sauce

1 TB Nutiva Organic Coconut Almond Manna

1 tsp Addictive Wellness Caramel Elixir Blends


Directions:

Boil some water in your kettle.


In your favorite mug, add the packet of Mushroom Coffee and almost all of the Caramel Elixir. Don’t forget to reserve 1tsp of it for your caramel sauce. Add 2 scoops Collagen Peptides (optional).


For the drizzle, knead the packet of Nutiva Organic Coconut Almond Manna until it’s soft. If you need to run a little warm water Pour 1 TB into a small bowl and stir in the 1 tsp of Caramel Elixir Blend.


Once tea kettle whistles, pour about 8 ounces of water (eyeball that) into your mug. Stir it with a fork, whisk or THIS handy dandy hand frother (I’m obsessed, travel with it and even whip it out at the airport).


For the froth, you can either heat the nutpods and Almond Milk on the stove top, froth it with the same hand frother a little and then pour it in, or use a milk frother like THIS ONE (which I use daily) and pour it in the frother, hit the button and boom, once your froth is well, frothed pour it over your coffee.


Pour the caramel sauce drizzle on top and enjoy!
